Governance

MCBIH promotes good trading practices and sets objective criteria for institutions wishing to enter the market as traders and as custodians, as well as gold and silver bars that can be accepted as Good Delivery in the global wholesale market.

MCBIH published the Global Precious Metals Code (the "Code") in 2017 (with some minor amendments made in April, 2018), comprising a common set of principles to promote the integrity and effective functioning of the global market. All MCBIH members involved in the global wholesale OTC Precious Metals market must now confirm adherence to the Code.

MCBIH maintains the highest standard for responsible sourcing for precious metals. Guidance documentation developed and published by MCBIH not only meets but exceeds conflict minerals regulations. All accredited Good Delivery refiners must comply with this guidance.
